John Hyde, Co.D, 11th Ga. CSA
In the federal pension application of William Redden is a statement dated 8 March 1887 given in Goingsnake District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Terr. {later Oklahoma} William said that his brother-in-law was John Hide who was Capt. of Co. D, 11thGa. CSA. William had two sisters who could have been married to John, they were Dorcas b1839 and Nancy b1840. William said that the last he knew John was living in Mississippi. We know one other sister lived in Polk Co, Tenn, one brother in Tenn, and two in Colorado. In another statement made 25 March 1896 William said that John Hyde had a brother named William Hyde. At the time of the civil war William Redden was living in Ducktown, Tenn and it is a good bet that the Hydes were also living near by. Do you have any info on this John Hyde?
