Thomas Henry Huxley was born in Middlesex, May 4, 1825, and received a medical education, taking honors in physiology in the University of London. During four years spent at sea as a surgeon in the Royal Navy he made careful investigation of marine natural history and on the publication of scientific papers on his return to England in 1850 he was appointed professor of natural history, and his researches since that time, especially in the more obsucure bust most important branches of biology, have been of invaluable advantage to science." contact me for more info. on the source of this obit.
