Hux, Pauline Virginia Carr
Pauline Virginia Carr Hux, 89, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006. She was born in Nash County on Dec. 8, 1916, daughter of the late J.B. Carr and Hattie Hales Carr. Her husband, Alonza Pettway Hux, preceded her death. She was a member of Hickory Baptist Church and North Roanoke Baptist Association. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Dean Hux and wife Jenny of Rocky Mount; grandsons, Dee Hux and wife Regena of Dortches, and Dan Hux and wife Whitney of Wendell; three great-grandchildren; stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Abrams of Greenville, Teresa Abrams of Forestville, Md., and Eve Abrams of Hyattsville, Md.; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 1912 Sunset Ave., Rocky Mount. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, with the Rev. Winfred Porter officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Baptist Church, 12702 N.C. 48, Whitakers, NC 27891 or Central Children"s Home of N.C., 211 W. Antioch Drive, Oxford, NC 27565.
