Hello Jennifer.....I had a good friend Ralph Horne over in East Tennessee, Greeneville, that married Billie Hutton. They still live there in Greeneville, and Billie`s family was from there......and she had told me the story of the Sevier connection too.
Something else, we all graduated from Tusculum College, in Greeneville (The oldest college in Tennessee..1794).
I did not know at the time, but I had a bunch of way back cousins (Love) there......Read about the Sevier and Tipton debates about the State of Franklin, and who was to get it, as it was dissolved.....My Grandaddy way back, Col. Robert Love, left over in that area and went to Burke Co. as it was given to Tennessee.....Burke was later Buncombe, and Haywood Co. even later too.....Col. Love gave the property for Waynesville, N.C. and named it after his good friend General Anthony Wayne, of the "Indian Wars" that he had served with.......Too, read about the horse race with president Andrew Jackson, with whom he was a good friend....Col. Loves horse won....and they kept the two apart for a good while afterwards, as both had awful tempers........etc.......Check out and get in touch with now Billie Hutton Horne in Greeneville, Tenn. I bet you she can tie you two in........Jack Howard , Hampstead N.C.
