George Hutton & John Patton Nile twp., Scioto Co., Ohio 1810-1850
Posted by: Hallie H. Martin (ID *****0610) Date: December 05, 2004 at 12:09:19
  of 1806

I have for years tried to discover the connection between George Hutton and Sarah Patton of Nile Twp., Scoito County, Ohio.

According to Sarahís deposition (below) taken when George was applying for his Rev. war pension she was in the home of George Hutton when he enlisted in York Co.,
Pennsylvania.

John Patton, of Nile Twp., I assume is Sarahís husband since there are no other Pattonís in Nile Twp., at that time. John Patton and George Hutton lived close to each other in Nile Twp.. In 1840 when both John and George were in their 80ís George Hutton was living with John Patton.

In 1820 census - Nile Twp., Scioto Co., Ohio - John Patton is 45+, 2 females in the home are 16-26, and 45+.

In the 1830 census - Nile Twp., Scioto Co., Ohio - John Patton is 70-80, and 2 females are 40-50 and 50-60.

In the 1840 census - Nile Twp., Scioto Co., Ohio - John Patton 80-90, one female 70-80,and George Hutton 80-90.

Both Pattonís and George Hutton must of died before the 1850 census.

According to the age shown for Sarah in the census, again assuming Sarah is Johnís wife, she would have been a child when George enlisted. Of course, another possibly is that
Sarah is Johnís mother and she died prior to the 1820 census.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
