searching for info Possibly linking two families from Nor. Ireland to Pennsylvania.
From Leona B. McQUISTON's book called The McQuiston McCuiston and McQuesten Families 1620-1937 publ. in 1937 2 volume set, on pg. 643 comes the following info:
County records of Wilmington, DE give these facts, "On the 10th of June 1797 William McQuiston and his wife Mary of the town of Carrick parish of Balteagh (MY NOTE - this is in Nor. Ireland), executed a power-of-attorney to her brother John HUTCHISON, Esq. (this spelling of last name) of Lislane (again in Nor. Ireland), parish of Balteagh county of Londonderry, giving him authority to take charge of and settle the estate of her brothers James HutchiNson (that spelling this time) and Robert HUTCHINSON who died during Nov. and Dec. and who died within five miles of NewCastle in America (MY NOTE this was part of PA and now DE), leaving behind them sundry goods and effects to a considerable amount." The document is signed by William McQUISTON and his wife Mary and witnessed by Jeremiah ANDREW and John BOYLE on the above date.
To add a bit more, the author also notes that the county records of Wilmington, Delaware show that in 1797 in the town of Carrick, same townland, parish and county mentioned above, lived William McQUISTON and his wife Mary who had been Mary HUTCHINSON (that spelling).
It says that William was born in the townland of Lislane, parish of Balteagh, Co. L'derry, Ireland. His parents are unknown at this time, but they were known to have come from Scotland and were among the first to break away from the Church of England and that the father belonged to the County Yeomanry and that the mother lived to be 104 years old. William supposedly had brothers of the name of John, Alexander and Robert McQUISTON.

My Question is this...does anyone here know if this HUTCHISON / HUTCHINSON line links to that of the Margaret/Mary HUTCHISON b. 1748 who married on Apr. 18, 1775 in the Paxtang Presby. Church in Dauphin Co., PA to Robert MOODY/MoodEy, Esq. who was b. 1752 in Londonderry, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland and died in Dec. 1838 Derry township in Lancaster Co., PA and is buried in the Derry Presbyterian Church cemetery? Also note that their son was the Rev. John MOODEY (this family spelled their last name with the "e" added), of Shippensburg/Middle Spring, PA.
Rev. John Moodey m. Elizabeth Gilchrist CRAWFORD in Hanover, PA in 1802. The McQuiston - Moody - Crawford link goes back and can be found in the family tree of Pres. Andrew JACKSON's family as his grandmother and a grt. Aunt were of the MOODY family that links back to our Ydna ancestor Thomas MOODY b.c1710 in/of Aghadowey, Co. L'derry, No. Ireland who married 1st to Jean McQUISTON/McCUISTON dau. of Benjamin McQUISTION (as his last name has been seen spelled...aka McCUISTION). The HUTCHISON/HUTCHINSON family is also linked to Pres. Andrew Jackson's family tree as well).
I am trying to find a link between these MOODY's/MOODEY's of PA to our Ydna family trees too.
To make matters even More Confusing, there was Another Robert MOODY b. 1748 in Scotland?? supposed son of an Adam MOODY whose father was James MOODY, Adam Moody's wifes last name was BOYD whose family came over to Lower Mt. Bethel, Northampton Co., PA from Nor. Ireland in the early 1700's.
This Robert MOODY was said to have been born in Scotland however, but I'm not certain of this since Adam was said to have come from No. Ireland??? However I do believe this branch of the Moody family was orig. from Scotland as the first name of Adam is very rare among the Moody's but is found among those from the Orkney, Dundee, Arbroath areas of Nor. Eastern Scotland and the last name is spelled as MOODIE and MUDIE.
This particular Robert MOODY (b.c1748) married a Mary HUTCHISON and was also Presbyterian.
This Robert MOODY and wife Mary HUTCHISON had children:
James, Anna, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary, John, Martha, Nancy and Samuel MOODY. I thought it was interesting that Robert named no son "Adam" for his father, but did name one James for his grandfather.

Info I have from an old book on the History of Beaver Co., PA states the above info and also gives Robert (b.c1748 son of Adam) and Mary's son John MOODY as having been born in Northampton Co., PA on Feb. 16, 1798.
At some point this Moody family removed to the area of Greene and Hookstown, Beaver Co., PA.
Ironically, we have yet another Ydna link to a branch of MOODY's who lived in Beaver Co., PA too.
They came over from Co. Antrim, Nor. Ireland in the early to mid 1800's, and link back to a James MOODY and John MOODY as well, but perhaps they chose this place simply because they knew they already had MOODY family living there.

This Robert MOODY's wife Mary HUTCHISON was b. Jan. 12, 1757 in Lower Mt. Bethel, Northampton Co., PA daug. of James HUTCHISON (so Robert and Mary's son James could actually have been named for her father too) who was b. 1714 in Co. Armagh, Nor. Ireland.
Again, I have not seen any documentation to support this but this is info shared from others who do relate to these lines and some of them do indeed have very good documentation supporting the Robert MOODEY, Esq. b.1752 in/of Co. L'derry, Nor. Ireland, but as far as the other Robert Moody b.c1748 whose father was supposedly Adam Moody, I don't know for certain on the documentation of this line other than what was printed in the History book of Beaver Co., PA.
These two Robert Moody's birth years are so close in time and both marrying Mary or Margaret HUTCHINSON/Hutchison's seem terribly ironic to me, but that they are intermarried with different family lines and lived in different places in Pennsylvania as well I have found very odd for several years now.

I am trying to find any links at all if known between these two families. I have a strong idea that there is, but am having a difficult time finding it.
Thank you in advance to anyone who may have further details.
