Can someone please help me or give me some direction on where else to look. I have looked for the ancestry of my husband's Hutchison family for over 20 yrs. This is what I know about the family. This branch is very interesting and colorful. I have two brothers supposedly b. in Lancaster, PA. John H Hutchison b. ca 1752 PA, served in the Rev. War from PA & died in the early 1820's in Phelps, Ont. Co., NY. No other info. His brother, my husband's anc. Wm. b. ca 1758 PA, also served in the Rev. War m. Mary Clark in Drumore Twp., Lancaster Co., PA 1791. He d. 1838 Orleans/Ont. Co., NY. Their ch. all b. Lancaster, PA:
Margaret 1792 d. 1849 Washtenaw Co., MI
James 1794 d. 1867 Orleans Co., NY
Thomas 1795 d. 1848 Orleans Co., NY
Mary (Polly) 1796 d. 1885 Washtenaw Co., MI
Jemima 1797 d. 1817 Phelps, Ontario Co., NY

Thomas J Hutchison b. 1795 was my husband's ancestor. He was a Dr. & m. 1822 Elizabeth Amsden, Ont. or Orleans Co., NY & both he & his wife d. young. I believe the youngest ch. were farmed out. Their ch. were JANE b. 1832, Wm., Harriet, Mary, Emeline & ULYSSES W b. ca 1834.

Jane Hutchison b. 1832, my husband's gr gma m. 1847 John Lashell Snyder. John Lashell Snyder's grandfather was John Snyder b. 1755 Lancaster, PA and brother to Simon Snyder, 3rd Gov of PA whom Snyder Co., PA is named after.

Ulysses W Hutchison, Jane's brother, however was notorious. He was b. ca 1834 NY. I have never found him in any census record but I have found bits & snatches of him all over the US. In 1861 (he may have been sent to family in PA after his parents d.) he was in the Civil War from PA & mustered out in Carlisle, PA. In 1862, he shot & killed Sam Malby in a gambling room in Rochester, NY. By 1866, from Cheyenne, WY he sent a letter written on a hanky (we sent this to a museum there) urging family members to come west for gold. By 1870, he was in White Pine, Hamilton Co., NV where he stabbed a man John Glennon & ended up in prison. Their records indicate that his father was b. in Maryland (but we think PA). He next is found in 1894 in Detroit, MI where we lost track of him. He did have family in MI.

In Andrew Mundle Hutchison's b. 1824 Orleans Co., NY obit, (a desc. of James Hutchison b. 1794) it states that Andrew had a family history dating back to 1670 which showed the family development of the family name & the earliest record going back to Scotland. The first generation was Hutch. The 2nd gen. m. an English person & the name was Hutchin. The 3rd gen. was Hutchinson. During the centuries that passed, this particular branch dropped one letter of their name. Andrew d. in Ionia Co., MI in 1909.

Can someone please give me some help or clues on finding the ancestors of William b. 1758 and his brother John b. 1752, Hutchison/Hutchinson? Or the burial place of Ulysses? Thank you.
