Martha Winstone, wife of this Thomas Hurte apparently died in 1651, A WIDOW. Her Will was written in 1651 (exact date not found in Will) and proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury on 13 November 1651, stating "I, Martha Hurt, of the city of Bristol, widow,". It mentions her brother, Giles Winstone of Willington Court and her children: William Hurt, "Citizen and Marchant of London", Thomas Hurt and Ann Hurt. She also mentions her grandson Thomas Hurt, son of Thomas Hurt. Executor named was her daughter, Ann Hurt. She said she wanted to be interred in the Church of All Saints. Witnesses were __?__ Winstone, Henry Flower?, Henry Groin?. Since she was a widow, her husband, Thomas Hurt, must have died prior to 1651. The information that he survived Martha and/or died in or about October 20, 1665 seems to be wrong. I wonder if this might help to find the missing Will of Thomas Hurt? There is a Court of Chancery record of a case of Hurt v. Winston, Moulin and Viney in Gloucester in 1673 held in the National Archives of England at Kew, Court of Chancery, Six Clerks Office, Pleadings before 1714, Whittington. Online reference C10/193/50. Has anybody obtained this record? If so, are there any genealogically relevant details of this family? Notify Administrator about this message?
