Hi all I have just discovered that my husbands GGG Aunt Hannah King born 5th April 1847 in Wickhambrook [to John King and Mary Ann Foreman] married John Hurst [born circa 1847 to Thomas Hurst and possibly Betsey ?] on 17th May 1867 at the Congregational Meeting House, Wickhambrook, Suffolk. Witnesses were Humphrey King [ her brother I think] and Mary Brown who might have been his girlfriend, I have yet to find this out. They had a son George born 6th November 1870 at Wickhambrook, Suffolk. The family show up in the 1871 census living in Malting End, Wickhambrook with Mary Ann aged 2 and George aged 5 months. In 1881 George is living with his Grandfather John King and there is no sign of Hannah, John or Mary Ann. A quick search of free bmd found a John and Hannah Hurst as dying in 1877 I have yet to send for the death certificates. In 1891 George is in the Suffolk Regiment at the barracks in Suffolk, he is a private in the Army aged 19. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Regards Carol Notify Administrator about this message?
