I'm trying to verify the connection between Alonzo B. Huntley (b. 1833) in Oswego County, NY, (d. 1927) and buried at the Beckwith Cemetery in Beckwich CA (Sierra Valley) to my Huntley family. The obit that I have a copy of first refers to Alonzo as Alonzo Wood Huntley, and then later as Alonzo B. Huntley. This is interesting as my great grandfather James Florus Huntley had married Nellie Wood in 1879, and Nellie's father was Col. Alonzo Wood all of which were from the same area as Alonzo B. Wood in upstate NY (Oswego County, West Winfield, West Exteter, Oneida, etc). Alonzo B. Wood had one son Herbert H. Huntley, who had a son Hubert Huntley. I also have found reference to Alonzo B. Huntley, Herbert Huntley, Hubert Huntley, Ernest and Jennie Huntley all in the Sierra Valley, with the later three all having interests in water rights to Last Chance Creek in Sierra Valley.
