James McRoberts Huntley b 1815

I am trying to find the origin of the McRoberts name. I have a copy of James Huntley's headstone and it says James M.O.R. Huntley or possibly James M.C.R. Huntley (there is a mark on the O/C). I also have seen M.O.R. on a census for a James Holmes (b1878). (That one was very clear) McRoberts seems like an unusual middle name if it is not a family name. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Lee Ann
