My pleasure, Jewel. This was progress for me, too.

I am not related to HUNTINGTON by blood. Strictly speaking, Sarah HUNTINGTON's relationship to me is "wife of my 3rd great-granduncle" (viz., Daniel Putnam HOLT). Daniel was the brother of my 3rd great-grandmother, Philancia HOLT. And I guess that makes Joshua my 3rd great-granduncle's brother-in-law -- and us cousins, though by marriage, not by blood.

However, as I'm working on these early HUNTINGTONs, I'm finding them intermarrying with other families I'm related to (e.g., CHENEY, LOOMIS, WHITE); hence my interest in pursing Sarah's ancestry so vigorously. I'll be astonished if I don't come up with a blood connection sooner or later.

I wouldn't give up on being able to more strongly document the connection between Joshua and Gurdon. It's time to start digging in the Niagara County deed books, will books, probate court records, court order books, newspapers, etc. We are lucky Gurdon settled in the county for so long.

Good hunting, and please keep in touch. I will continue to post what I find on their family group sheets at my web site.
