Samuel Hunter b about 1808 was a clock and watch maker on High Street in Clapham, Surrey, England during the 1800s. He was married to Lucy Moudy b. 1804 of Barking, Suffolk, England. They had the following children: Charles R. b 1844, John b 1836 (assistant watch maker) Lucy b 1834, Mary Ann b 1842 m Harry Fox Stoddard, Samuel b 1830, and William b 1820. Mary Ann and Harry Fox Stoddard had the following children: Sidney H., Rose, Edward, Ethel, and Edith. Samuel Sr. had a brother John Thomas Hunter who was in the watch maker business.
