I ran across this obit and I’m posting it in case someone needs it. I have no further information on the person. Mrs. Franks The Portsmouth Times, Portsmouth, Ohio December 2, 1946, Monday Franklin D. Hunter Franklin D. Hunter, 84, pioneer resident of Scioto County, who spent most of life on Lick Run near Lyra, died at 7:55 am Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Powell, 1528 Ninth Street. He was born April 4, 1862, in Clinton Furnace, a son of Franklin S. and Susana Bowen Hunter. In 1890, he was married to Rosa Bennington and to this union were born seven children. Mr. Hunter was a member of the Baptist Church at Lyra. He is survived by his wife; the following sons and daughters, Mrs. Clay Knight of South Webster Pike, W. P. Hunter of Scioto Furnace, Orma, Willard and Violet Hunter, Mrs. Powell and Mrs. William Purtee of Portsmouth; 15 grandchildren, on of whom, Mary Lou Hunter, was reared by her grandparents, and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Jake Fox in charge. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery under direction of McCurdy & Scott Funeral Home. The body may be viewed at the Hunter residence at 1204 Ninth Street until the funeral hour. Notify Administrator about this message?
