My grandmother Angus pasted poems, articles she found interesting, obit of friends etc., in an old book. The newspaper is quite yellow and crumbling as are the pages of the book. I came across a death record from a newspaper with the name of Mrs. John S. Hunter. The bottom of it has crumbled off, but there is a little info that might be of interest to someone. There is no year, but my guess would be in the late 1800's to the mid early 1900's. My grandmother lived in Nashville, TN. What there is of the clipping is as follows: DEATH RECORD MRS. JOHN S. HUNTER Mt. Pleasent, Tenn. Feb 9._(Special) A death that will occasion much sorrow among her numerous friends was that of Mrs. John S. Hunter, which occured Saturday, at the home of her sister, Mrs. John Hildreth, at this place. Mrs. Hunter was born in Henry County Virginia, July 22, 1833 and removed to Lawrence County, Tenn. with her parents when quite young. In 1858 she was married to John S. Hunter and came here to make her home. Her husband died shortly after the close of the civil war and since that time Mrs. Hunter has made her home with her sister Mrs. John Hildreth. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Hildreth, Mrs. Josie Hill and Mrs. Alma McKennon and several note: the rest of it has crumbled away. Also where it says she removed to Lawrence Co., yes it does say removed. It isn't a typo. Hope this will be of some help to Notify Administrator about this message?
