(Ed note: David Hunt is the son of Gersham Hunt. Rowan County Disisions of Estates, Book A:72, shows the division of the estate of Gersham Hunt on 8 Jan. 1812, according to the will of Gerham Hunt (Rowan County Will Book G: 149). Abraham, Elijah, and David Hunt received portions of the land on Potts Creek.Gershum Hunt was born c1723, probably in NJ, and these three sons are of his second marriage, to Elizabeth (maiden name not yet identified).David Hunt died 20 Jan. 1811, aged 44 yrs.,, 9 mos., 18 days.His wife Sarah died 22 Oct. 1864, aged 87 years and 10 mos.They are buried in the old Hunt graveyard near Tyro, NC, where Potts Creek is quite small, on a tract of land called the old Christian Sink Place.)
