Mr. Hudson,
The only information I have on the father of William Hunt was written by him in a autobiography. His father was Isaiah Hunt, born February 4, 1777 in North Carolina. His wife was Jane(no maiden name known) born August 25, 1780 in South Carolina. Isaiah moved to Middle Tennessee in 1807 and settled on Duck River near the three forks in Bedford County in 1813.In 1824, he moved to Jefferson County, Alabama and united with the Baptist church at Canaan. He died in Alabama but we do not know of a burial site. We do have a copy of his will and documents from "orphans court"
I think that William was probably his oldest child(born March 11, 1806) in Laurens dist., South Carolina. As you stated he married Teresa Holcombe, oldest daughter of Rev. Hosea Holcombe on June 5, 1825. They had one son, Alva Jackson Hunt, who died in the civil war at the age of 36 years. His wife, Laura Ann Rockett(daughter of Eudocia Holcombe Rockett) was a first cousin. They had seven children with five living to adulthood. We are descended from Judson, the youngest son, my great grandfather. My grandfather was Sam William Hunt of Spearsville, La. I do have more information on Alva Jackson's descendants if you are interested. Are you related to the Hunts or Holcombes?I am searching for other information and would appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks,
Wanda
