Quit Claim Deed, this indenture made this 14th day of Aug. a.d. 1945 between John L. HUNSUCKER of _______ Co., in the State of Ok, of the first part, and John A. NEAL, of Wanette, OK, of the second part, for the described land in the County of Pottawatomie, State of OK, to wit: Lot, Fourteen (14) in Block Twenty eight (28) in the Town of North Wanette, OK.

Mr. John L. Hunsucker, I have bought the property formerly owned by you and your wife. On the account of some discrepancies in the title, I need a Quit Claim deed to Lot 14, Block 28, in the Town of North Wanette, OK., am enclosing my check made payable to you in the amount of $5., and if agreeable to you please sign said Q. C. deed in the presence of a Notary Public and return same to me. The same results can be had through court, but I thought this way best. Thanking you for your cooperation and wishing you success in all your undertakings, I am. John A. NEAL (signature)

Raymond L. Melot Tuesday, October 20, 1998 </pre> <p>
Raymond L. Melot, 85, Shawnee, died Saturday in Sherman, Texas. He was born May 18, 1913, in WANETTE to Vernon and Mary (Tinney) Melot. He attended WANETTE schools and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1933. He received an associate's degree from Bacone Junior College, Muskogee, and attended The University of Oklahoma for two years. He married Synia Wynne on April 20, 1939, in Anadarko. After her death, in 1961, he married Evelyn Jay in VanAlstyne, Texas, Sept. 6, 1980. He worked as a placement counselor at the Oklahoma State Employment Service for more than 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Tecumseh High School Alumni Association, and Draper Street Methodist Church. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years, serving as a sponsor and a speaker with the organization. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ella Melot. Survivors include his wife, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Hilton L. and Romona Melot, Tecumseh; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Clarice Melot, Shawnee, and Mickey and Charles HUNSUCKER, Richardson, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Alva and Betty Melot, and Glenn and Dolores Melot, all of Tecumseh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with the Rev. William H. Bentley officiating. Burial will be in Tecumseh Cemetery. The family will receive mourners at the funeral home 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. The casket will remain open until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Raymond L. Melot Citizen Potawatomi Nation Scholarship Fund, 1601 Gordon Cooper Drive.

Thought this would be of interest to some one searching the Hunsucker families in Pottawatomie Co., OK.
