I'm descended from your Jacob's brother, Isaac. In early 1920s correspondence between Effie Zimmerman Custer and my husband's grandfather, Isaac witman Huntzberger:
Effie Zimmerman Custer:
24 Nov 1921 -- "Our great-grandfather -- grandfather Ober's father's name was Christian Ober and his wife was Elizabeth Hunsberger. I am told that the father of Elizabeth Hunsberger (Ober) served in the Revolutionary War...We think that...[he] was in rather larger service than the others...."
18 Oct 1923 -- according to Effie's mother (Ann Ober Zimmerman), her mother's great-grandfather Huntsberger (Abraham) fought in the American Revolution.
Haven't had any luck in connecting our bunch to the family represented by the Huntsberger Family Association. Have you?
