Hi James,

Thank you for posting this information. I have been trying, without success, to confirm my wife's ancestry. What we know is that Montgomery Hunsaker from Union Co. Illinois was her great great gfather. Family lore and an obit in the Jonesboro Gazette indicated that Montgomery's father was Nicholas (Nikalas in your posting?)and that his mother was Olivia, who supposedly was the daughter of a John Montgomery and that she was from Kentucky. Nicholas supposedly later married a Rhoda (possibly also maiden name Montgomery). Family records also indicate that Abner Hunsaker, Nicholas' brother, also married a Rachel Montgomery.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any documentation of an Olivia, Rachel or Rhoda to a John Montgomery in Kentucky or to find a mother's name for any of these Montgomery sisters. Have you come across any connection between these Hunsakers and Montgomerys?

Thanks,
Vic
