Upper Monthly Meeting was composed of all Friends and congregations in the counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, Brunswick, and Mecklenburg.The pillars of the infant organization were the families of Bott, Fowler, Ladd, Hunnicutt, Peebles, Binford, Chappell, Sears, Butler, and Nixon, all of whom had been member of the Society of Friends since the earliest days of the Virginia Colony.
