I thought I would copy a note I received from one of my correspondents who belatedly weighed in on this topic.
He writes:
He writes:Sorry to have been so long in adding my thoughts to this matter - I was in
transit (again!) from Australia to England.

I don't have any more information than that posted by Richard last week,
but I can add that what we know about this branch comes largely from a
couple of wills, supplemented by parish register and marriage licence
material.

I agree that it is perfectly possible for some unknown Hungerfords to
descend from George and Katherine Fabian, as the three sons Anthony,
Thomas and John are largely unaccounted for.I would be surprised if
Edward's descendants were involved as they are much better documented.

Of the wills, the main one is that of George Hungerford himself, proved in
the Gloucester Consistory Court on 23 May 1601, and dated 1 June 1597
(both the register copy and the original survive at Gloucester - I have
both).George requests burial at Windrush in the chancel of the parish
church where 'my father my wife and other my frends were buried'.The
will is mainly concerned with provisions for his unmarried daughters and
granddaughters (the children of his son Edward Hungerford and of his
daughter Anne Peart).

His son Edward's will, dated 19 October 1611 and proved 6 September 1612
at Gloucester Consistory Court, also requests burial 'in my Chappell in
Windrush Church where my Annsectors hath bine buried'.The will makes his
wife Katherine executor, and decrees his estate shall be handed down to
his son (a minor) Edward, then to his second and third sons.He makes
provision for his two unmarried sisters, Martha and Eleanor, and mentions
his 'cousins' William Copley, John Fetiplace and Robert Fetiplace.

Edward's widow Katherine's will was proved at Gloucester in 1630, and
again makes provision for her daughters and granddaughters but does not
shed any more light on our query.

I can't identify any wills for George and Katherine's remaining sons, so
it's another case of needing to search through parish registers in hope!
