Attention Richard W Hungerford Jr
I have been unsucessful at contacting you at the email address on http://archiver.rootsweb.com. My name is Carol Vaughan and I am the grandaughter of the late Maria Pomeroy Sheard (nee Hungerford) and I live in Perth, Western Australia.
I have recently met a man who is extremely interested in Egyptology and has traveled to Egypt 4 times. Whilst discussing his interest, I was prompted to remember that my Grandmother would often proudly tell me stories of her nephew Bruce Hungerford and have Bruce's record playing, telling me of his expertise on Egypt. I remember she was very fond of him and they used to correspond. I decided to search the net and have been surprised by the volume of information on his life and works and saddened to hear of his untimely death.
I am searching for what I think I remember of a book that my Grandmother, (deceased 1979) used to own. If my memory serves me correctly, the book was about Egypt and Bruce was photographed on the front cover, playing a grand piano, with pyramids in the background. It is possible that I may be remembering the cover of the record. Do you know anything about a book? If so, it would be helpful to know it’s title as I wish to chase down a copy to purchase.
