He was naturalized. I understood he left Hungary but I don't know whether or not he served there. I have checked Ellis Island however haven't been able to find anything there. According to my mother, they came on a cattle boat and I have no idea how that worked. The names you sent about the Handa name...Imre Handa was my grandfather on my father's side. Karoly was my uncle. My father came later. He had a brother and sister who remained in Hungary. They came from Tiszadob.
I have records for them and the ships they arrived on.
