Debbie,
Pavo Gadanac was the key, as Istevan Bencsik b.i.l. and destination in WI Paul Gadancz per EllisIsland.org, I did a partial search on "P... Gadan..." knowing the many mistakes built in, and got the common origin Sladojevci.

You may want to research Sladojevci Church Records at FamilySearch.org to get the whole picture:

https://familysearch.org/eng/library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?display=titlefilmnotes&columns=*%2C0%2C0&titleno=525522&disp=Mati%C4%8Dna+knjiga++

"Roman Catholic parish registers of births, marriages and deaths for Sladojevci, Verőcze, Hungary; now Sladojevci, Croatia. Text in Latin and Serbo-Croatian."

Jula as Julijana Gadanac came over in 1922.

Sladojevci and Slatina are next to each other, Slatina was the District Capital of one of the districts of Virovitica County. Looking north on the map they are close to the Hungarian border, the Drave River. Regard of Stephan (Istevan) Bencsik father Franje (Ferencz in Hungarian), normally if want to find somebody in Hungary close to Virivitica County you would start with the city of Barcs just across the Drava river, but in this case I found some interesting leads to an other Bencsik family member perhaps related as far north as central Hungary.

Regards,
Joseph
