Dear Stephen, Here you may have hit a brick wall. Very few records are available from Ukraine. Your only hope would be to locate a researcher in Ukraine who could find the entry for you. The majority of the village was Roman Catholic and it had its own church there. Do not be overly surprised if you do not get a reply from Anyos Jedlik. I tried for years to get information from the archives of a school in Hungary. Finally a good friend in Hungary contacted someone in the village government who went over to the school and found the records. I have been given two reasons--one is because I wrote in English, the other just because Hungarian officials tend not to be very responsive in general. We had a recent visit from a professor from the University of Debrecen. Even he has trouble getting information. In contrast, he said he has never contacted a professor in the U.S. who has failed to respond within 24 hours. It would be great if you could find someone in Györ to follow up for you at the school. Even a telephone call might help. Writing to the mayor of Györ is another possibility. Good luck, Janet Notify Administrator about this message?
