Please excuse my last followup. I thought you were referring to 'Medders' (totally different group). Here's some info anyways: The Meadors, Meaders, or Meadows group claimed that Ephraim Garonzik had a 1907 deed from Anthony Lucas to some of Spindletop. Garonzik sold to James Meadors in 1911. Heirs of James Meadors (James Clark and his cousin Dan Profitt) sued for 20 billion. Unfortunately, the case was dismissed, and as of 1994, the delusional Dan Profitt claimed that the oil companies had offered to settle for $3 billion but he refused the offer. Basically, a settlement never happened, or was even offered for that matter. The group was never even entitled to any compensation. Sorry to disappoint you. A lot of stories have been spun to "link" families to Spindletop over the years. Unfortunately, none of them are true, no matter how much we want to believe them. Don't feel bad, because I am in the same category as you. I was told I missed out on trillions because damn McFaddin forged a deed. Go figure. Hoped this has helped.
