I am particularly interested in this family due to the 1880 Census in Bowie County, Texas, with Margaret as head of household. Sons William R. and Samuel are still in the household, but there is also a John E. Moore who is listed as "grandson". He is listed as age 8 b TX, father b. GA mother b. MS, which would make either Mildred or Ann Eliza A. as his mother, Although Ann is listed as born in AL in the 1860 Census, leaving only Mildred being born in MS.

My ancestor was George W. Moore. In 1870, he was also in Bowie County, TX, age 23 b GA, living with a Stephen Rainey family 10 pages after this Humphries family. (The Raineys and George W. Moore were from Marion and Schley County GA)

With John E. Moore born 1872 that means his father George, would have married shortly after the census was taken. in 1872, George W. Moore would be 25, Mildred about 22 (she is listed as 2 in 1850, 10 in 1860, 17 in 1870).

In 1880 my G W Moore is in Upshur County TX. He is listed as age 32 b GA and Widowed. Also in his household are A. Smith (f) 60 b GA, and Mollie (f) 34 b GA listed as Stepmother and Stepsister. (He was living with this same family in 1860 in Schley County, GA)

The reason I believe this John E. Moore is the son of my ancestor, George W's will was dated April 13, 1906 and recorded in the Deed Records of Cass County TX in May of 1911, in it he states "I give to Johnie Moore, child by my first wife, and now of Bowie County, Texas $5.00 in money to be paid at the death of my wife and not til then"

I am lookoing for anyone that may have information on these Humphries and to see if one of the daughters was indeed married to a Moore.

Thanks
