Clyde Humphries was the son of Benjamin Franklin Humphries Jr. (twin to William Hester Humphries)...Clyde was married to Elsi McAdams.
Clyde was born in Coleman Texas Nov 18 1896 and can be found in the 1900 census for Coleman Co. Benj F. Jr. and William H. (my line) were born in May 4 1864 in Hammond La (Tangipahoa Co.)...Their father was Benjamin Franklin Humphries and mother was Elizabeth (Willy) Hester Martin...Benj. married Willy Nov. 2 1849 in Marengo Ala...Benj. was born in Maryland in 1825..He had a sister Dolly Ann (Virginia) Humphries who married Elizabeth's brother, Frances Marion Martin May 6 1853 in DeSoto Co. La....Benj. and Dolly's father was Samuel Jesse Humphries and their mother was Dolly Fox...They can be found in the 1850 census for Marengo Co. Ala. (He went By Jesse not Samuel)..They left Virginia sometimes after April 30 1834 (date Dolly Ann was born in Virginia)...
My Grandfather, Calvin Dennis Humphries and a number of other Humphries moved to the Ft Smith Arkansas area sometimes after 1904...He had a sister, Etta L. Humphries marry William Lee Warren in Arkansas...My grandfather registered for the WW1 draft in Van Doren (Ft. Smith) ...He moved to Bosque Co. Texas after WW1 and died young from injuries he suffered in France (WW1)... Benjamin F. Humphries Jr. and his family can be found in the 1920 census for Hays Co. Texas where they are listed as "Traveling Showmen" ..They evidently had a traveling vaudville show (12 people listed in the household)...Benj. Franklin Jr. died in 1944 and is buried at Liberty Hill Texas.............Ron Humphries
