Susan, a little help!
Philip Humphris and Mary J. Morris were married in Benton County (now Calhoun), Alabama on 22 November 1849.Their first child, William T., was born in Benton County in 1850.You can find both Philip Humphris and Mary's parent's, Catharine and James Morris on the 1850 Census for Benton County, 30th District, printed pages 402 and 403, dwelling numbers 155 and 156.
In the 1870 Census, they were in Cleburne County, Alabama, Wehoza Post Office, written page 17, printed page 316, dwelling 118.In the 1870 Census, Philip's name will look like "Pres".It drove me crazy for a long time, until I discovered it was an old fashioned abbreviation for Philip.Sorry, but I can't type the abbreviation the way it is written.
I don't know if they ever lived in Georgia. The last time I can find them is on the 1880 Census. They were in Marble Valley, Coosa County, Alabama.
My grandmother was Lavera Pearl Humphries. Her line went to Sebron Esley Humphries to William T. Humphries to Philip Humphris.
Are we related????
