This letter is contained in some of my family's history. I am not sure it will be of any help to you, but at least shows that Coal Cree, TE did indeed exist. The letter was written about 1927.
Mr. James L. Humphreys
Linton, Ind.
Dear Sir,
Your letter of the 10th received a few days ago. Was glad to hear from you. Now in regards to Solomon Humphreys heirs. I have often heard my grandpa and grandma talk of Solomon Humphreys. They are both dead. Grandma died in 1917 and grandpa in 1918. Grandpas name was Hilery Humphreys and grandma's name was Catherine Louise Humphreys. But they called her Cassie as a nickname. I am a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hilery Humphreys. There was eight girls and two boys. The girls are Delia, Jennie, Ida, May, Rose, Anna and Bertha and Drucie that was uncle Dick Humphreys girl which grandma took and raised from a baby and the boys are John and Will.
Rose is my mothers name and she received your letter and asked me to write you in regards to Solomon Humphreys heirs. I hope that you can give me some information. I will close hoping to hear from you by return mails.
Yours Respectfully,
