Cindy--I have one copy left of Vol. 2.It has further info on Clarence Edward and his collateral family. You can purchase it at discount for $35.If so, send me your postal address. It is do for a revision for I have compiled much additional data. The origins of Nicholas remain a mystery.I was born in MA and have visited Mendon many times.I have since learned from a descendant of Ezra Humes, who was a great-grandson of Nicholas that the family had a seafaring tradition. As you know, I have visited Scotland and the Hume Castle.I have also engaged David Dobson, noted Scottish geneallogist,to do research on site and he could find nothing. My best guess is still that the father of Nicholas was John Hume who was in the Darien Colony.I knew Tony Tillmans and know where he obtained the notion that Robert was the father of Nicholas. It come from an old genealogical column in the Boston Transcript. No proof has ever been offered. However, it is possible that Nicholas came from No. Ireland for many Scots settled there after the Battle of the Boyne.Charles
