My research shows Thomas A. Huling b 1808 in N.C is one of the siblings to my ggg grandfather, Jonathan Huling b. 1797 that came to Nashville TN. circa 1846. Their little brother Osborn b. 1810 also came to Nashville with Jonathan. Jonathan Huling and his family spelled his name Hulan. He and his wife, Eliza, settled in Nashville and had a total of 11 kids. Seven females and four sons. One son enlisted in the Union army and died of small pox in 1865. The remaining three sons carried the Hulan family name (William Ashville Hulan, George Washingon Hulan and Thomas Jefferson Hulan). Some of these Hulan's stayed in West Nashville, the rest are kind of scattered. They can be traced in Shelbyville, TN (research the Musgrave pencil factory), Murfreesboro, TN., Bona Aqua, TN., Williamson County, TN. (Grumpy bail bonds) and some of the youngest son's family moved to Kentucky.
George Washington Hulan was my gg grandfather.
