To the best of my knowledge, yes to the first and no to the second question. My knowledge of those specific things is minimal, though. I haven't looked for a will, inventory, or deeds. They didn't have very much to distribute, and were quite old when they died -- had probably distributed it and were living with one of their children, or grandchildren.
