Hi Mike...thanks for answering....actually, I have discovered a lot since I posted and have simply forgotten to update the posting...
my Louis Alfred Jeanneret, born 7Nov1859, in la Rochevière les Ponts (just outside Ponts de Martel) to Frédéric Sylvain Jeanneret and Eugénie Dumont ...Fréd was from Travers and Eugénie was from Le Locle/La Brévine....I now have a lot of information on the family back to 1600's and other families the Jeanneret's married into...including Dumont, Petitpierre, Blanc, Franel, Matthey-Petit Abram, etc etc
I would love to share info with you, especially if your Jeanneret's are from Travers....but even if not, apparently all Jeanneret's link back to a family who settled Le Locle (who seem to have some different names but who all Jeanneret's come from)...Yermin Jahanneret (1453) and his father Yanenet....also Jehan Jermin (alias Jehanneret, pre 1552....Estevinn Yermin (Jermin)....Jehanneret Jermin
So get back to me and we will see what we can link up....thanks again....John
