I am currently researching Robert Hughson born abt. 1835 in Canada who married Mary Wharfield born abt 1840 in Canada. I believe Mary is the daughter of Henry Wharfield and Mary Ann Chamers who migrated from Canada to Wayne County, Michigan sometime after 1850. Robert and Mary Hughson lived in Lapeer County, Michigan according to the 1870 Michigan Census. Robert died between 1870 and 1880. His wife filed for his Civil War Penison. Their children were Charles Edward, George,William,James, and Minnie who died as a small child. There may have been other children as well. I find Charles (Edward) living in Manistique, Schoolcraft County in the 1900 Michigan Census, with his grandmother. (Note:The Robert Hughson family is sometimes confused with a Henry Hughson,Civil War veteran whose wife was also Mary. This family also had a daughter named Minnie and lived in Hillsdale,Michigan)
