Hi, I am researching all Hugheys in SC and NC. I found your David B. Hughey and family in census records. Was Nettie the one listed as Jenettie E. in the 1900 census, with a birthdate of August 1895? What was her full name?

Could you tell me where David B. and Ethel Robbins Hughey are buried? I found David's two brothers G.M.C. (Green McKibben) and James A. Hughey and families, also their mother Elizabeth (Elder) Hughey on the page for Buck Creek Cemetery at ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/sc/spartanburg/cemeteries/buckcrk.txt but David isn't listed there.

You can find David, James, Mary J., and G.M.C. Hughey's father Harlan Hughey in the 1860 census. Their mother Elizabeth (Elder) "Huey" was a widow in the 1870 census. Harlan probably died in the Civil War....I found that he served in Co. K of the SC 5th Infantry (see http://www.researchonline.net/sccw/index/index128.htm ). I hope this helps.
