Mrs. Edna Birchfield, aged 65 years, passed away Sunday, October 16, at the home of her son D.(avid) F.(letcher) Birchfield, in Lansing, after an illness of one year.Her maiden name was Edna Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hughes.
She was born in Mitchel county, North Carolina, coming to Michigan with her family 26 years ago.Her husband Samuel Birchfield, preceded her in death several years ago.
She is survived by three sons,D.(avid) F.(letcher) Birchfield of Lansing, Alexander Birchfield of Hillsdale and W.(illiam) L.(awson) Birchfield of Roam(n) Mountain, Tenn.14 grandchildren, three half-brothers, Nelson Hyden of Adrian, John Shepherd of Marysville, Cal., and Synclair Shepherd of Los Angeles, California: one half-sister, Mrs. Pearl Nachtrieb of Yuba, California, and many friends and relatives
She accepted Christ as her Saviour during her sickness and often expressed herself ready to meet her Saviour, and often asked her friends to meet her in heaven.She bore her sickness with patience to the end.
