Thank you for your posting. Were you ever able to locate that cemetery record for Elizabeth HUGHES JENKINS?
It appears that there is a HUGHES lot at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church cemetery (Greenville Co SC); however, detailed markers are no longer extant?
I'm interested in determining more about these HUGHES.
The only HUGHES connection of which I'm somewhat familiar is that of Rolly JENKINS family (his son Allis R JENKINS md 1841 (by Hardy J[ones] GILREATH Esq) Miss Elizabeth HUGHES; and, that of Jeremiah STOKES (md Elizabeth HUGHES(Elisha GREEN md their dau Theresa STOKES; their Nancy GREEN md Hardy Jones GILREATH -- this couple is buried at the cemetery)) family.
There is some connection to Maryland [1817 Greenville Dist SC petition by Elisha GREEN to import family slaves, mentions John HUGHES in MD -- thought to be Frederick Co?].

I've noted an 1820 slave census for MD; and, when searching for John HUGHES, there were 2 with a total of 18 slaves -- if I'm interpreting the results correctly.
Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
