Gene, your right on as to Wm Hughes' later life existence. I have what you sent and a lot more. The quest is to fine his Father and other Family origins. All the MS info connects to the Wm Sibley McCoy Family as Wm Hughes married his daughter, Mary C. McCoy. The McCoy's came from Sumter Co., SC to Amite Co., MS abt. 1815. Wm. Sibley McCoy's brother, Joesph is living next to a John Hughes, who looks to be a widower in the 1820 Sumter census. John is the only Hughes in the area that could be Wm Hughes' father. John isn't there before or after, so my quest is to identify this John Hughes.
Thank you for your efforts, I'm looking for the preverbial needle in a hay stack, but it's the only lead I have.
Kim
