I am one of a group working on an official history of the Wisconsin 23rd Regiment . One of our men is Henry C. Hughes b. 1844 in Wisconsin, son of Benjamin (b. 1897 in North Carolina & Mary A. b. 1824 in New Your;l . He enlisted 14 Aug 1862 at Darlington, Lafayette Co. WI & was mustered out 4 Jul 1865 at Mobile AL
Benjamin was a teamster who apparently d. before 1870.Mary A. was on the 1870 Monroe, Green Co., WI Census.Henry C. had Thomas, Oliver, Elvira(Alvina) Delia & Eva for siblings.Henry d. 1 Apr 1863 disease.
This is all the information we have. If you can help us fill in any of our blanks we would be grateful.
