Hughes in Kentucky before 1800

As part of my research into my HUGHES lines, I have transcribed the Hughes that appear in Kentucky tax lists between 1787 and 1796, and that appear in Virginia tax lists between 1782 and 1796. I have transcribed ALL Kentucky tax lists during this time period, and SOME Virginia tax lists. I have transcribed 350 entries to date.

A summary of my findings, which lists the names that appear in each county and the years that they appear, can be found in the middle of the following document:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bradhurley/research/HughesOrigins.pdf

The actual transcriptions are contained in a series of spreadsheets, one county spreadsheet. They are named:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bradhurley/research/xx-yyyyyy.xls

where "xx" is the state and "yyyyyy" is the county name (for example, the transcriptions for Fayette County KY are located in http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bradhurley/research/ky-fayette.xls)

I hope this helps!
