Vikky, I love to hear the little stories about our ancestors. I hope you will post more. I know one branch of the Hughes in Hanover were connected (they were either neighbors or intermarried) to the Vias and Wilburns.

It's going to be difficult to figure out who Trader Hughes was because it was so long before the area known as first Henrico, then probably Goochland, Albemarle, and Amherst. There were two different lines of Hughes who later settled in Amherst County. We've had all the Hughes in the area of Amherst DNA tested.

I've checking with other Hughes researchers on the names you mentioned in your database.
