James Wesley Hughes was the father of Ernest Linc. Josaphena/Isafina Andrews Hughes was not his mother. Josaphenia died abt 1882 and J.W. remarried Middie Baker. She was Ernest's mother. We believe that Samuel D and Susan Highers Hughes were J.W.'s parents based on 1850 Census info. J.W and Josaphenia's children include Sarah Jane (Dedie), Susan A., John W., and Robert (Bob). If you are decended from Ernest Linc Hughes, the information is a little newer. Ernest was J.W.'s last surviving child and continued to live in Smith County,
