Portraits of Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Hughes & daughter, Baltimore, MD, 1789
The January 2009 issue of ANTIQUES magazine has an ad on p. 74 picturing two portraits of Baltimore silversmith and entrepreneur Christopher Hughes & his wife Peggy Sanderson Hughes & her daughter, painted in 1789. The portraits are by the great American artist Charles Willson Peale.
I am scanning this page in case any of Christopher Hughes' descendants might like a copy, either by email or by postal mail. Someone in the Hughes family ought to have them--they are too good to be missed by the family. They may not have a lot of genealogical value, but they certainly have a great deal of family and artistic value.

If it were a portrait of a Mr. & Mrs. Pease, I'd certainly want someone to do the same for me.
