Recent DNA test results may be showing a new direction for my family. For many years, I have thought my ancestor, Edward Hughes, was connected to the Rees Hughes, Sr., family of New Kent/Hanover Counties. He attended the same Quaker Meetings and events with the Rees Hughes family. Descendants of two branches of my family did dna tests with FTDNA Project, and they do not match a couple of other descendants who also think they are Rees Hughes descendants. The following record says Edward Hughes was claimed as a headright in 1687. I would love to find other researchers who might know something about some of these people claimed as headrights.
