Thanks Jan,
My James Marion Hugh(e)s, according to what I have, was born in NC in 1832, that is what was on the 1880 Catoosa Co., GA census and you know how that goes at times. Catoosa Co. is just a jump across the boarder also. His son, John Andrew Hughes, my great grandfather was born in GA in Oct 1867. James Marion also named one of his daughters Pollie. Also putting the Andrew in John's name.
I just don't know if they are connected. I only had the info. about James Marion Hughes and Mary Bryson from my grandmother, she past away in 1981, but I remembered her telling me many years ago, and it has checked out so far. I found some of the relatives from James Marion's daughters and none knows a thing it seems. I found a lot on the Bryson family though. I just can't find where James and Mary died at. John Andrew married Fannie Smith there at Whitfield Co., GA, Sept 1888. They came to TX 1899 it appears.
I really do thank you for that info. I had wondered if maybe they had been up in TN. John worked up at Chattanooga, on Lookout Mountain roads prior to moving to TX. And by the way, my grandmother always refered to her grandfather as Marion instead of James Marion or James. I sure wish he would of had a brother that I knew of.
Thanks,
Gerald
