Patrice, You may find some assistance in a book called "Huggins of Spring Hill, S.C." by Dorothy Tedder Smith (Wentworth Publishing, Columbia, SC 2000). There may be a copy in the care of the Darlington County Historical Commission. The book's index lists several George Huggins entries. A good many of the Huggins in Lee County and Sumter County moved into the Darlington County area.

There were a great many Huggins families in the area and this book traces them back to 1670, but you need to get as many family names as possible.

Mrs. Smith lives in Bishopville, so there may be a copy in the Lee County Archives.

Good luck.
