Courtney, have re-read this file, and this James was listed as being from Jones Co., NC, which is where our family came from. File # is S.46449 in case you want to look it up. He was a Pvt. in Captain Tillman Dixon's Company in 10th Reg. of the North Carolina line. There are no family members listed in the document, and no age given for him. He was allowed pension on his application Dec 15, 1829 at which time he was still living in Jones Co.
The letter dated Nov 27, 1933 to a Mrs. Ernest Warder of Glasgow, KY from the archives says he is the only soldier listed by that name in the Rev roster. Maybe this will help.
