Hi, My brother, William Land took the DNA test and the result was I1a. I can find no other Land/Lands that match. My great grandmother was Elizabeth Huggins and the Lands and Huggins intermarried several times. They were mountain people from northern Georgia, Western North and South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee. On Elizabeth (Lizzie) death certificate it lists her father as Bill Huggins. (Her name is spelled Hutchins on one census).
I have traced the Land line back to Thomas Land 1818 SC. His mother was Sary Sanda Lands or Sarah Land. In the 1830 census they lived in Rutherford Co., NC and Thomas was the only boy. His mother was listed as Head of Household. His sisters were Rachel (Who married Alfred Hutchins), Nancy, Mary, Elizabeth and another sister whose name I do not know who was also said to have married a Hutchins. Does anyone have any clues to this mystery?
